I recently had the pleasure of attending the Creative Arts EMMY Awards with my brother, Dean Banowetz, #13 in our family of 15 children and a double-EMMY nominee this year for his hairstyling work on Grease Live and Dancing with the Stars. Dean is a celebrity hair stylist who has worked on hit TV shows including American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance and Shark Tank, to name a few. During the EMMY ceremony at the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles, one of the most memorable and moving moments was the announcement of the winner of the Outstanding Commercial 2016. This award was presented to the Ad Council’s viral “Love Has No Labels” diversity and inclusion PSA campaign, created by ad agency R/GA and produced by Mindride. It’s a beautiful piece which reminds us to be thoughtful and accepting of others. We really enjoyed it, and hope you do too.
